Eating Vegan Mexican Food in San Diego
One of my favorite types of food is Mexican food. One place that I always have to stop and eat at when I'm in San Diego is Pokez. Pokez is right downtown located on, 947 E Street, close to Gaslamp. I've had every vegan menu item that they make and it's hard to choose a favorite. My go-to breakfast is the vegan tofu chorizo and the potato taco's and it never disappoints. The potatoes are seasoned and soft, paired with pico de gallo. The chorizo has the perfect spiciness and the tofu is cooked to perfection. The vibe of this restaurant is mello and funky, I love coming here!
Next stop is always Ranchos Cocina, located on 3910 30th Street in North Park. They have vegan options as well as raw options and plenty to choose from. My go-to order is the giant order of nachos and the vegan trio enchiladas. The nachos are piled high and full of deliciousness. The trio enchiladas, one enfriojolada, one tofu & one blue corn avocado. I like to get a side of the vegan chipotle aioli as well, it's so addicting. You've got to check this place out!
Whenever I'm in the mood for the best chips and salsa I head to El Indio. El Indio is located in Old Town on 3695 India Street. The chips and the salsa are made fresh, order a large because you will not be disappointed!
Enjoy!
