Garlic Brown Rice
Garlic Brown Rice
3 tablespoons of Earth Balance Butter
10-12 cloves of garlic
2 cups of brown rice
4 cups of water
4 green onions
Himalayan salt to taste
- Heat a large pot on low heat and add butter. Let it slowly melt.
- Chop garlic and add it to the melted butter and fry for 4-5 minutes until the garlic is crispy and golden.
- Turn off heat and take the garlic out and place on a plate lined with a paper towel.
- Heat the same large pot to medium and add rice into the butter. Stir to evenly coat all of the rice with the butter. Cook for 1-2 minutes and stir often.
- Add rice and butter mixture to rice cooker.
- Add 4 cups of water and cover with a lid and turn the rice cooker on.
- Once the rice is done, let stand for 5 minutes.
- Chop the green onion.
- Open the lid to the pot and stir the rice, fluffing it up.
- Serve while the rice is hot and add the green onions, salt and crispy garlic.
